According to deadlinehollywooddaily.com, Paramount and Dreamworks had anticipated this story inspired by The Supremes starring Beyoncé, Jamie Foxx, Eddie Murphy and Jennifer Hudson doing in the neighborhood of $4.5 mil on Christmas Day. But, based on matinees already, I'm hearing it could score $5 mil and possibly even $6 mil today. Many theaters sold out 24 hours before December 25th screenings and added a midnight extra to accomodate moviegoers.
Personally speaking this movie is a must see. Everybody and I do mean EVERYBODY did exceptionally good jobs however I must say that Jennifer Hudson should have gotten the Lead Actress nom and Bee got the supporting actress nom. No offense ya'll know I love me some Bee, and for all the haters she did her thang as Deena Jones but JHud as Effie, you can't get no better.
