Jennifer Hudson is up for consideration to play Aretha Franklin in a silver screen adaptation of the Queen of Soul’s life. Aretha, who is working on a musical stage-based version as well, is reportedly hand-picking the cast herself. (SOHH) I see Jenny just snatching up all the good roles. See what an Academy Award can do for ya. I guess Regina King, Gabby Union, Sanaa Lathan (and just about every other known black actress) will probably have to resort to staring in the sequel of Nora's Hair Salon
