MAKING MOVES

Ciara will play the lead role in CodeBlack Entertainment’s “Mama, I Want to Sing!,” the feature adaptation of the Off-Broadway gospel musical. The feauture also stars Patti LaBelle and Lynn Whitfield. “Mama” will start production in Baton Rouge, La., next month. It’s slated for theatrical release next February under CodeBlack’s multi-picture deal with Fox’s FoxFaith label.“Mama, I Want to Sing!” tells the story of a preacher’s daughter, who rises from the church choir to pop stardom; the character’s based on Doris Troy, best known for the 1963 hit “Just One Look.” The stage show played more than 2,400 performances between 1983 to 1991.

Alright CiCi its time to show and prove boo

In other news,
Beyonce is in talks to play Maggie the Cat in a new Broadway revival of "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof." The revival was originally supposed to begin performances later this year, but it's been pushed back to accommodate her schedule. The all African-American production will be directed by Debbie Allen. In addition to Beyonce, Danny Glover is in talks to play Big Daddy, Phylicia Rashad is in talks to play Big Momma and the HOTNESS that is LL Cool J will play Brick. Veteren Broadway star Audra McDonald had agreed to play Maggie, but apprently producers wanted a bigger name. Audra said, "I think Beyoncé's an incredibly beautiful, talented singer. But the stage is a very difficult beast . . . a lot of people don't understand how difficult it is not just to do it right once, but do it right eight times a week and keep it up."
Hmmm hopefully Bee can prove her wrong, I just hope "Sasha" don't make an appearance, ya'll know that b*tch is crazy
